ERC-CoG-2021 Virtual Interview Trainings

The virtual interview training of the NCP ERC addresses applicants for ERC Consolidator Grants who have been retained for step 2 of the evaluation and are invited to a virtual interview by the ERC Executive Agency. Our online trainings are aimed at applicants with German Host Institutions, will be held in English, and are free of charge.

Part I – The aim of Part I is to prepare candidates for a successful virtual interview. We provide advice from experts on presentation techniques, practical experience from successful candidates, and background information on the evaluation process (in particular, statistics on the current status of the evaluation). After the training, candidates should be able to prepare for the interview independently and successfully. The morning session will take about 1.5 hours.

Part II – This optional Part II aims at practicing in depth the individual Q&A session and to give individual feedback from a professional rhetoric coach. Therefore, it will be mandatory for participants to prepare up to two questions for this part of the virtual interview training and to perform it during the simulation of the mock panel. The number of participants of this part is limited to six person, which prior participated in Part I. This session will take about 4 hours.
